I didn't want to fall into old habits and blog about Au Revoir Simone, not that I previously blogged about them I believe, but still it felt a bit cliché for a while. But now they are back with a remix album and one name on the list really attracted my attention: Jens Lekman. A combination of both must equal a guarantee for fun and beauty. His repertoire was not that familiar to me, yet The opposite of Hallelujah always stayed on the playlist. I love how the genre says "Holiday". It actually quit suits his music and you can imagine yourself driving in a Volkswagen hippie van towards a sunny, beachy destination. The collaboration between the two did surprise in such a way that there is nothing funny and chipper about the track, although it still is a wonderful, dreamy song and grows stronger in the middle of the song. The violins really give it a 60's feel and it wouldn't be misplaced in a Mary Poppins production or contemporaries.
