Someone who never seems to fail is Caribou. The one-man band took all our breaths away with his new single 'Odessa' from his new album. He made us hold our breaths just long enough to last the wait. The album 'Swim' is out now and it does not disappoint. I feel that when Caribou and Joe Goddard would work together they could conquer the world. I read that Caribou wanted to capture the feeling of 'water' and I am not sure if he has, but if this is what it sounds like then everybody should dive into water.
Someone who did fail last time bringing out a piece is Goldfrapp. Everyone thought they could do no harm after their first album 'Felt Mountain' but their album 'Seventh Tree' proved everybody wrong. The only good thing that came from that record was the Hercules & Love Affair remix to 'A&E' basically. The two now worked with Dutch DJ Tiƫsto, who isn't an unknown figure in the happy trance music scene. The whole album feels a bit like a 90's revival, a tribute to Cher. When listening to Alison Goldfrapp I tend to get the idea she gets major kicks out of hearing herself sing. She's constantly moaning through the song and is it really her singing those high notes? She must have hated Imogen Heap jumping on the bandwagon and is withholding her status. All in all it is a good attempt to maintain the Electronic Crown.
