It's been a considerably long while since I first heard the album of the girl with the cello. I've obviously been into harps since Joanna Newsom, but the only one that got to play my harp was Vyvienne Long who has not been busy with launching anything celloish. Bird's launch is not getting a lot of publicity, perhaps the label is the blame for that. The music is not the cause of it, as it has a really optimistic and professional feel to it. Perhaps it's for the better that this girl and her cello are not under a big(ger) label or she might well end up in the charts. For now we can listen and enjoy and experience the strings being pulled in her anonymity that can very soon be gone.
