Nicolas Jaar is bringing out his debut album and it somewhat different as to what we are used to. There are a lot of musical influences to be heard on his album. We hear dub, reggae, techno and a lot of minimal. I feel that his sound is going to be one of the popular sounds of this year together with contemporary artist James Blake. The title track is one of the more catchiest rhythms together with "I got a woman" and "Too many kids finding rain in the dust".
Nicolas Jaar // Space is only noise if you can see
A while ago I tuned in to Viva Radio, which I haven't done in a while and there were some lovely funky old school tunes playing mixed with more modern electronic tunes. One of the artists that came by was Lucien-n-Luciano, who has been making music under the rader and doing side projects for a couple of years now. "Madre, mother & mère" is one of those relaxing, smooth dance tunes that you hear at the beginning of a good night dancing and probably influenced some of the artists getting more popular with dancy tunes like Azari & III.
