Pukk Le Pop

Oh yes, it's time for the Pukkelpop superpost. Only one long week to go before the hell breaks loose. And I'm so excited, like y'all cannot imagine. I just hope it's not gonna rain or anything. So here are some gems to go see in no particular order.

Midnight Juggernauts
Being described as "David Bowie if his Berlin Trilogy was a collaboration with Kraftwerk and Faust." Which doesn't say much to me. All I know is, I wanna see them live and witness if they are able to perform all their catchy tunes with the right rhythm and atmosphere.

Sam Sparro
This I would call a guy not easy to read. You might see him as a wannabe gangster the one minute, the other minute he is dressed as the geek from Hot Chip. It makes you think a lot about genius Jamie Lidell, but it has more pop, less edges. Still worth seeing I might say. He strikes me as a singer with an endless amount of energy and being able to get the crowd in a happy state.

Little Dragon
With a star singer like Yukimi Nagano it's not hard to form a worldclass band. Her voice is simply magic. The band managed to create a cd that's not only magic, but just as easy-listening as danceable. It just depends on your mood. Whenever you feel like dancing, you dance.

The Subs
Often called the new Soulwax, or any other Belgian electro band that exists longer than 10 years. But actually they look nothing like Soulwax. Their style is unique, they make the best remixes. And so does Soulwax, but only different.

Caribou
Caribou is just an alias for a man who makes pure beautiful things. After hearing his music you could never tell it's just one simple man, of course he gets help. But all you hear is straight out of his head. And that thought can sometimes be frightful, but hearing this music live, you just need to chill and whipe a tear occasionally.

Lykke Li
I only discoverd this lovely voice a while back, I cannot imagine a life without it. I like it so much, everything around it represents every piece of beauty. And Lykke herself isn't too bad looking herself. It's a shame she has to play in the beginning of the last day, when frankly most people will still be sleeping. However I will make sure to get up early (with a hangover maybe) and witness this lovely talented woman.
